Robot Registry Standards
Core principles for persistent, controlled and independently verifiable robot identity records.
Unique identification
Each approved robot receives a unique RRID. RRIDs are not intended to be recycled between robots.
Persistent records
The RRID remains associated with the registry record even when the registration status changes.
Controlled issuance
Submitting an application does not automatically create an authoritative RRID. Issuance follows registry review and approval.
Public verification
An RRID can be checked against the public registry to confirm the current registration status and public record.
Privacy separation
Applicant and administrative information can remain separate from the information appropriate for public verification.
Auditability
Registry events and status changes are recorded to support the integrity and history of the registry record.
Registration status
Registry records may carry statuses including Active, Suspended, Retired or Revoked.
